My main areas of work
I mainly work with municipal management and benchmarking, usually based on registry data on financial ratios. Furthermore, I take part in mapping municipalities’ needs and practices in the welfare areas, and I investigate political organisation in municipalities. With regard to research, I have a broad interest in politics and management. I have had articles published in several scientific journals, as well as in the Danish journal Politica.
I have researcher-level methodology skills and often combine different analysis methods in my work. I am an expert in surveys, but I have also collected data using public registries, personal and focus group interviews, and content coding of documents. I have carried out both cross-sectional studies, time series studies, panel studies and experimental studies.
I have a master’s degree and a PhD in Political Science from Aarhus University. During my time at the university, I taught at graduate and postgraduate level, e.g. the subject of social science method, and I have been affiliated with Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, University of Oslo and Oxford University at various times. I have been employed as a researcher at VIVE since 2018.
