This report illustrates the employment situation for people with a disability from a regional perspective. The aim was to add to knowledge on the challenges faced by Denmark’s four employment regions in connection with the new efforts to help those with a disability.
Based on a survey of about 9,000 interviews, the report shows that people with a disability appear to be best integrated in the labour market in North Denmark. For example, people with a disability comprise a somewhat larger percentage of those employed in Northern Denmark than in the rest of Denmark, and wage earners in North Denmark often have a more positive attitude towards working alongside a colleague with a disability than wage earners in the other three regions. In addition, people with a disability in North Denmark and Southern Denmark are more familiar with the schemes devised to promote employment than those in Sealand and Central Denmark.
