This report examines labour market attachment among disabled people. It is based on interviews with a broad range of the Danish population.
The report creates an overview of developments in the employment situation for disabled people from 2002 to 2010, and it focuses particularly on e.g. knowledge about employment-directed schemes for disabled people and attitudes towards this group on the labour market.
The survey shows that considerably fewer people than previously stated, disclose their disability, and that since 2008, employment for disabled people has fallen at the same pace as for persons without a disability. One of the other conclusions is that more disabled people than previously are employed on special terms, that there is increased knowledge about the personal assistant scheme, and that today more people are positive towards persons with mental disorders.
This is the third report about the employment situation for disabled people since 2002. It is based on interviews conducted by Statistics Denmark with persons between 16 and 64 years old in the Labour Force Surveys from 2002, 2005, 2008 and 2010 as well as register information. This survey has been financed by the National Labour Market Authority.
