Elements of Social Security

Elements of Social Security contains an overview of important benefit schemes in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Canada. The schemes are categorized according to common sets of criteria and compared. Stylized cases illustrate the impact on disposable income of different 'events' such as illness, unemployment, disability and retirement. Maternity benefits and family allowances are also included.
