Feedback-Informed Treatment (FIT) is increasingly being used in the social area in Denmark. It is a dialogue and evaluation tool that can be used actively in family support to adjust, adapt or organise processes. This report evaluates experience from the family centre in Silkeborg Municipality, which has been working with FIT for four years.
FIT is a relatively simple tool composed of two questionnaires, each with four questions, and both personnel and families give the impression that they were pleased with the method. Personnel think that the systematic feedback gives them knowledge about the families’ problems which they otherwise would not have had, and therefore it enables them to adapt their work for a specific family.
FIT also contains a tool to measure changes in the wellbeing of the families (Outcome Rating Scale), and it shows in general that families are better after the treatment processes. The study also shows that changes can also be documented with validating measurement tools (SDQ and Ladder of Life).
The report has been financed by the family centre in Silkeborg Municipality.
