This report is a systematic review which has been developed as part of the Integrated Programmes for the Mentally Ill project in which divisions in regions and municipalities working with people with mental disorders have teamed up to develop an integrated intervention. The project is being conducted with the Implement Care consultancy firm after tendering procedures by the National Board of Social Services in the period 2011-2013. Six municipalities and two regions are taking part in the project. The purpose of this systematic review is to provide project members with an insight into the existing knowledge about integrated interventions.
The systematic review examines a number of methodologies to integrate treatment and rehabilitation programmes for citizens with mental illnesses. The review is divided into methodologies emphasising treatment and methodologies emphasising social intervention. The methodologies examined in the review include Assertive Community Teams (or Assertive Outreach), Shared Care, the Finnish open dialogue model, housing support and supported employment.
