Labour Market, The Social Sector
This report examines the collaboration between municipalities and enterprises on social responsibility in the labour market, with emphasis on mutual understanding, practice and consultation. Furthermore, the report provides inspiration for how networking among the social partners can contribute to social responsibility.
Managing directors in particular associate municipal employment schemes such as wage subsidies and flexjobs (jobs on special conditions, often subsidised) with social responsibility. They rarely include prevention and retention efforts that do not involve the local authorities. The will to help is there, but it is aimed in particular at people whom the managers perceive as being ‘victims of circumstance’.
The report is based on 32 qualitative interviews with managing directors, employees at job centres and people linked to the relevant local employment councils.
