Labour Market, The Social Sector
For several years, local authority social workers have placed recipients of social assistance benefits into match categories according to labour market readiness. This report, based on more than 1,800 telephone interviews, describes how recipients of social assistance benefits assess, among other things, their own ability to work and their financial situations.
A large portion of those interviewed appear to be appropriately placed: In categories 1 and 2, the recipients of social assistance benefits assess themselves as ready for the labour market; in categories 4 and 5, they assess themselves as not ready due to sickness, accidents, attrition or handicaps.
Recipients of social assistance benefits assess their own financial situations as basically unchanged in relation to 2000.
