The supplementary labour market pension scheme for persons receiving anticipatory pensions was introduced in 2003 but only one-third of disability pensioners have joined the scheme.
This report describes who joins the scheme, why they do it or why they deselect it, as well as the significance of information campaigns in relation to joining the scheme. The purpose is to identify the best ways of effectively increasing awareness of the scheme. According to the report, more and more people are joining the scheme, but these are mostly “resourceful” disability pensioners.
Analyses show that more and better information about the scheme inside and outside the municipalities, as well as enhanced focus on disability pensioners who are in the old disability pension scheme will help increase membership.
The basis for the analysis is data from Arbejdsmarkedets Tillægspension, PensionDanmark and Statistics Denmark. Information has also been collected via questionnaires from a wide number of users and non-users of the scheme, as well as from municipal employees. The report has been commissioned and financed by the Danish Pensions Agency.
