The Scandinavian Experience. Trajectories of Adjustment

This paper analysis developments in the cash benefits systems of the Nordic countries in the 1990s and uses this as the basis for a discussion of the future of the Nordic Welfare Model. Problems related to globalisation, demographic developments and trends in the labour market is formulated as a ''Mission Impossible'' for the Nordic Model - and Perspectives for the future of the model is discussed.
