Children, Adolescents and Families
This report investigates whether there are any changes in the knowledge about and attitudes towards social issues for a group of young people who took part in the Youth Forum in Ilulissat, Greenland, in 2011.
The Youth Forum was the first activity in the Nakuusa project. The project is being conducted in collaboration between the Greenlandic Ministry of Family & Legal and Justice, the Government of Greenland and UNICEF Denmark. The project aims at improving the conditions of children and at ensuring their basic rights in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The young people were asked the same questions during the Youth Forum in 2011 and again in 2013 in order to study whether there were changes in their knowledge and attitudes. This report contains the results from 2013 and shows that the changes are small.
Overall the results suggest that the young people believe that being responsible for solving social problems is largely linked to specific persons rather than to the structure and organisation of a country.
