Developments on the Swedish Labour Market and in Swedish Labour Market Policy during the 1990s are described. Part I provides a picture of the situation on the Swedish labour market during the first part of the nineties. In Part II developments in the unemployment protection system since 1995 are presented. This section also includes a description of income packaging and net replacement rates for people receiving unemployment benefits. Finally the overall development of the system during the nineties is assessed and discussed in Part III.
