Areas of Work
Lasse Kjeldsen works with governance and cross-sector collaboration between the state, municipalities, and the third sector, with a particular focus on the social housing sector. His research focuses on the collaboration between the public sector and the social housing sector around urban development and transformation processes in marginalized housing areas.
He has also carried out evaluations within a wide range of social policy areas and worked as an advisor for the state, municipalities and housing associations in the social housing field.
Methods
Lasse works with qualitative interviews, focus groups, participant observation, document analysis, and literature reviews. He also works with surveys and register-based data.
Background
Lasse has a background in consultancy and from 2007 to 2012 he worked as an evaluator within various welfare policy fields. From 2012, he was a consultant and later head of research at the national knowledge center, Center for Urban Regeneration and Community Development. Here he worked on a broad range of analysis, evaluation, and advisory tasks within the social housing field.
From 2019 to 2023, Lasse completed an industrial PhD at Aalborg University’s Department of the Built Environment, focusing on cross-sector collaboration in urban development in marginalized housing areas. He has published several research articles on urban development and the social housing sector, as well as numerous analyses and evaluations within the field.
Lasse joined VIVE as Chief Analyst in 2025.
