By Means of a description of a transition in a Danish industrial Company, attention is brought to three important marginalisational perspectives on the transition from a traditional to a more flexible form of work organisation: latent marginalisation, manifested marginalisation and polarisation between insiders and outsiders. In sum the paper demonstrates the relevance of considering marginalisation of employees as a consequence of the transition from a traditional to a more flexible organisation, as well as what the enterprise can do to modify or moderate these consequences.
