This paper focuses on community-based services for vulnerable older people in Denmark. The main characteristics of the Danish case of integrated care are introduced, and the principles in the provision of community-based services and the overall organization and responsibility of these services are analyzed. 

Furthermore, the principles and the incentives behind the development of integrated care for older people in Denmark are discussed. On the basis of the Danish experience, the paper ends with a discussion of important characteristics of community care for vulnerable and disabled older people and significant factors in the process of developing integrated community care.
