This report elucidates employment developments for disabled people and compares these with developments for people without disabilities from 2002 and up to 2012.
The employment rate fell between 2002 and 2012 for disabled people as well as for people with no disabilities. Between 2010 and 2012, the employment rate has not changed significantly; neither for disabled people nor for people with no disabilities. However, the employment rate fell by 4.2 percentage points between the two years for people with major disabilities.
The report also shows that people with reading and writing difficulties are not as often in employment as people with no reading and writing difficulties. This applies for disabled people as well as to people with no disabilities.
Moreover, the report elucidates psychological well-being, job-search activity, numbers receiving transfer incomes, and the general attitude towards disabled people. The report also focuses on the extent to which selected goals in the Liberal-Conservative Coalition Government (2001-2011) Employment Strategy for disabled people have been met.
