This report examines developments in bailiff cases and evictions from 2007-2013. The report also includes a benchmarking analysis which estimates whether individual municipalities have more or fewer evictions than expected, after taking into account the differences in the municipalities' populations. The report shows that tenants with a low disposable income are generally at relatively high risk of eviction. Young people between 18 and 24 years old, single men, and tenants with a criminal charge or conviction were over-represented among those evicted from their homes. A total of 27 of the 94 municipalities in the benchmarking analysis also had more evictions from social housing than expected after taking into account the municipalities' population, the local housing market and municipal factors such as the size of the municipality. The report was financed by the Ministry of Housing, Urban and Rural Affairs .
