Labour Market, Management and implementation
This report is a literature study that sheds light on the framework for management and work organisation in the Danish public sector. The report uncovers what motivates managers and employees, and how managers can develop a workplace characterised by job satisfaction and employee commitment through dialogue with their employees.
Furthermore, the report illustrates the general trends for work organisation and management structures in the public sector as well as recruitment and career patterns for men and women.
The report shows that especially meaningful tasks, working together with colleagues, skills development and a good working environment are motivating factors for employees in the public sector.
The literature study is based on a broad selection of relevant literature published since 2000. Primary focus is on empirical studies, and especially Danish research and Danish research-based investigations.
