In 2012, the Danish government then in office launched a National Strategy against Honour-Related Conflicts, covering the period 2012-2015. This national strategy covered a total of 32 initiatives with the following objectives: to reduce the number of young people involved in honour-related conflicts, to ensure that more people received support, to increase the number of parents receiving counselling, and to make professionals better prepared to handle cases involving honour-related conflicts.
This report is a retrospective evaluation of this national strategy. The report focuses particularly on how three of the 32 initiatives have worked in practice: a special initiative aimed at primary school counsellors, a course for staff offering educational guidance for young people, and the so-called “Dialogue Corps”.
The report is based on interview data, observations and documents, as well as questionnaire data from some of the events organised by the “Dialogue Corps”.
