This is the fifth sub-report in a series of reports from the dialogue project about municipal preventive measures. This report describes five specific initiatives which, in different ways, carry out preventive measures for 14-17-year-olds.
The five initiatives vary from a holistic intervention approach, with residential schemes and school attendance, to an assigned contact person, work experience at a workshop, or after-school leisure activities. The people involved in the different initiatives believe that their most important task is to help the young people to an independent adult life. They are dedicated to empowering the young people and endowing them self-confidence, and they serve as role models by showing the young people the way towards good social relationships.
The objective of the project is to acquire and systematise knowledge about municipal practices, experience and results in relation to preventive work with vulnerable children and young people. The project is to result in a catalogue of examples of good practice, to be disseminated to municipalities in Denmark, so they will be more qualified to provide relevant support and help to vulnerable children and young people.
The project has been commissioned by the National Board of Social Services and is being conducted by SFI collaboratively with Cowi A/S.
