This report describes the development of scales for the wellbeing of students at vocational colleges. On the basis of data from existing measurements of wellbeing, taken of students at vocational colleges in 2013-2014, the report contributes to the development of scales and therefore is part of work to take valid wellbeing measurements in the future of students at vocational colleges. The 2014 agreement, “Better and more attractive vocational training”, between the government and the opposition requires improvements in student wellbeing on vocational training programmes. Wellbeing can be crucial for students’ success on their programmes. In order to assess the level of wellbeing, however, it is important to apply valid questions and scales to measure wellbeing. The report contributes to this work by analysing data from existing measurements of wellbeing, and it culminates in eight scales to cover the various areas of student wellbeing and assess study conditions etc. The results of the analyses in this report will be used to help in further work to establish a comprehensive stock of questions to measure the wellbeing of students on vocational training programmes in Denmark, and they will be included in work by the expert group on wellbeing and business satisfaction surveys to measure wellbeing at vocational colleges. The report provides knowledge about the questions in the existing database that seem suitable to measure the wellbeing of students at vocational colleges, and on the scales on which these questions should be distributed.
