Labour Market
The report describes possibilities and barriers to the academic labour force in the western part of the Central Denmark Region.
The survey shows that, at the time of the interviews, about 8 percent of businesses in the survey intended to recruit academic labour within six months.
The survey also shows that many businesses expect the academic employee to show up at the workplace every day and that businesses would like academic employees to relocate to the local area. Businesses assess that there is a barrier in that academics have difficulties seeing further career opportunities in the local area and that academics prefer to commute to the workplace. Poor infrastructure is also mentioned as a barrier. The survey is based on a questionnaire survey of businesses in the following municipalities: Lemvig, Holstebro, Herning, Ringkøbing-Skjern and Struer.
The survey has been commissioned by the Employment Region Central Denmark and financed by the Central Denmark Region and the Employment Region Central Denmark.
