Since 1998, SFI - The Danish National Centre for Social Research has conducted an annual review of the social performance of Danish enterprises. The review comprises questionnaire surveys distributed every other year to representatives from enterprises and every other year to employees.
This 16th edition of the Yearbook focusses on specific interventions and attitudes to business's social performance. The Yearbook describes the practice and attitudes of businesses with regard to policies for seniors and absenteeism due to sickness, as well as their attitudes to the Danish reform of schemes with subsidised light jobs for the disabled which entered into force on 1 January 2013.
The Yearbook also follows changes in efforts by businesses to prevent reduced ability to work and to retain and employ people with reduced ability to work. Finally it examines what actually characterises socially engaged enterprises. A total of 2,325 enterprises took part in the Yearbook, and more than one-third have one or more employee on public subsidies.
