Within the last few years, there have been several serious cases of violence at sheltered housing facilities and care homes. This report is part of efforts to prepare national guidelines to prevent this type of violence.
The purpose of this report is to contribute knowledge on two subjects:
Firstly, what methods, approaches and forms of organisation support violence prevention at facilities that work with people with cognitive disabilities, psychological difficulties and/or social problems.
Secondly, how cross-sectoral cooperation between the sheltered housing facilities and care homes on the one side, and other institutions and actors on the other side can contribute to violence prevention.
Each of these subjects is dealt with via a literature study as well as a number of interviews carried out at four facilities which were deemed good at working with violence prevention.
