Labour Market
Labour Market
The Danish National Centre for Social Research (SFI) conducts an annual study of the social performance of businesses to identify trends within this field and any problem areas. The Yearbooks alternate between viewing the issue from the perspective of businesses and wage-earners. This year is the wage-earners’ turn.
Each year selected topics are examined in depth. This year’s issues include wage-earners’ attitudes to working with a colleague with mental disorders, and how wage-earners with managerial responsibility view their role in social responsibility.
This year’s study shows a disturbing trend; i.e. that wage-earners find it more of a burden and less of a help to have a colleague with reduced ability to work. Study data stems from a representative questionnaire survey carried out among Danish wage-earners in connection with data collection for the Labour Force Survey conducted by Statistics Denmark. The study was funded by the Ministry of Employment.
