Løntilskud og lærlingebeskæftigelse

This study analyses the determinants of employment of apprentices in Denmark. An estimation of the elasticity of substitution between apprentices and other wage earners yields a value of 1.0. The major development in the wage structure was a constancy from 1949 to the mid-sixties followed by a rise in the ratio of apprenticewage to the wage of other wage earners from 0.20 to 0.50 in the beginning of the 1980-es. The results are used to analyse the consequences of amendments in the wage-subsidy scheme to employment of apprentices introduced in the late 1970-es.
